Continuing with its commitment to empower differently-abled individuals; Alkaram Textile Mills aims to create a pathway for physically challenged people into a diverse and inclusive workplace environment. “Disability Matters” program offers empowerment for people with disabilities. The program offers workplace training and capacity building for such individuals with the aim of helping them secure paid work.
We are proud to embrace and promote the betterment of women. Alkaram Textile Mills has tripled the female workforce since last 10 years. Strategic plans are in place to grow women in leadership roles and empower female employees through skill development.
A fully functional fire and safety department and an emergency response team are always on alert to handle emergencies within the mill such as medical, fire, explosion, hazardous material spillages and any other similar situations. Regular fire drills are conducted throughout the mill by civil defence approved trainers. Automatic fire pump systems are also installed in various units of the mill.
Alkaram Textile Mills encourages new innovations in the field of textile research and development by providing technical support, resources and laboratory access for research projects to universities and institutes. Also, students from textile institutions are encouraged for educational excursions at the mill.
As a socially compliant employer, Alkaram Textile Mills follows strict policy measures, procedures and code of conduct to prevent child labour; and not only that, If the child labour is found working in the supplier’s facility, Alkaram does not continue business with the supplier and the information of the same is communicated to the customer.
